Maureen D. French
YORK – Maureen (Snellinger) “Fran” DeCarlo French, 77, entered into rest Thursday night, February 26, 2026 at her home. She was the loving wife of Warren P. French. The couple celebrated 15 years of marriage on April 24, 2025.
Born January 9, 1949 in Baltimore, MD, Maureen was a daughter of the late Richard A. and Marion C. (Wagner) Snellinger.
She graduated in 1967 from Mercy High School in Baltimore. She retired in 2012 from Atlantic Financial Credit Union in Hunt Valley, MD and previously worked for 1st Alliance Credit Union in Towson, MD and Typo 12 Federal Credit Union.
Maureen was a member of the Women’s Club of Shrewsbury and was secretary of the Friday night bowling league at Lion Bowling Center in Red Lion. She enjoyed painting, putting jigsaw puzzles together and playing Bunco with her girls. Most of all, she loved supporting and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events.
In addition to her husband, Maureen is survived by two daughters, Maria L. DeCarlo Mahone and husband, Matthew of Red Lion and Julie C. Decker and husband, Ryan of Dover; a step-daughter, Heather Carlock; three grandchildren, Lincoln, Max and Francesca; three step-grandchildren, Tyler, Sierra and Brooke; a step-great granddaughter, Paisley; a brother, Rick Snellinger and wife, Cathy of Bowleys Quarters, MD; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Frank J. DeCarlo, Jr.; half-brothers, Ray and Earl Ward; half-sister, Marion Truitt; and her beloved dog, Willow.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Maureen’s viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Her funeral will be private for immediate family only. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in New Freedom.
